Pidempi kurssikuvaus: The course \\\"Supply Chain Design\\\" is given under the umbrella of the Graduate School of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. It is a general doctoral course for logistics, supply chain management, and operations management students, aimed at 1st-2nd year doctoral students.

Particular attention is paid to the combination of these principles in light of flexibility and resilience, and the management of disruptions. The aim of this course is to discuss and outline various approaches to these principles and concepts in supply chain management research.
The course draws parallels between different application areas of logistics. For example, the automotive supply chain has been an example where lean principles can be applied, vs. humanitarian supply chains have been in the spotlight for their agility.
Upon completing the course doctoral students are expected to have an overview of supply chain design principles and should be able to select between their application and potential combination in supply chain management research.
