Investor Attention and Financial Markets

Learning goal and objectives

This course offers a doctoral level introduction to “Investor Attention and Financial Markets” by providing an overview of cutting-edge research on the effects of investor attention on investment and corporate decisions, valuations, as well as stock returns. There will be a special focus on disentangling the effects of attention from retail vs. institutional investors. The course aims to inspire and support students in developing research ideas and doing research of their own in this field. The more detailed information on the course content will be provided closer to the start of the course.

Credits: 6 ECTS

Grading: Written exam and a term paper will comprise the final grade. Grading will be on the scale of 0-5.

Prerequisites: TBA

Admittance: 25 students. Finance PhD students have priority, but the course is also open for KATAJA-, FDPE-, and foreign doctoral students given that there is space in the course.
