Learning goal and objectives: The course aim doctoral students to improve their papers into journal submissions. Course consists of lectures and small group sessions. During the course editors and members of the editorial board will be lecturing on the topics, such, as the strategies for publishing, editorial policy of the journal, publication process, submission, responding to reviews, and resubmission process. To the course we invite doctoral students, who have progressed well in their writing stage of their doctoral dissertations and aim to improve the quality of their papers to a level of publications in international academic journals. Target journals are Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, Journal of Supply Chain Management, International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management (IJPDLM), Journal of Business Logistics, Logistics Research and Journal of Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Management (JHLSCM).
Course consists of lectures and small group sessions. Course participants will prepare refined versions from their paper before the course. These papers are allocated to journal editors and editorial board members and during the course teachers will serve as tutors and discussant of the papers. In small group sessions participants will get feedback to their papers and each of the participants will make a plan for journal submission level version for their papers. There are also other assignments given during the course. The key learning objective of the course is to help doctoral students in their writing process aiming to improve their papers to publishable form in international peer-reviewed academic journals.
Target group: Doctoral students who are progressed well in their writing stage of doctoral dissertation. Prerequisite is a good quality full paper (maybe one you have presented, or that has been accepted to a conference, or another).
Instruction and examination: Course consists of lectures and small group sessions. Course participants will prepare an edited version from their paper before the course. During the course they will get feedback to their papers from the journal editors and they will make a plan for next version. There are also other assignments given during the course.
Doctoral students interested in participating in the course need to apply for the course. Deadline for application: 9th June.
Important: Send your application by email to the course coordinator ( anu.bask@aalto.fi ) including the attachment of your article manuscript, which should be a good quality full paper (maybe one you have presented, or that has been accepted to, a conference, or another). Paper has to include Emerald style structured abstract in the first page of the paper.
Only students that have sent their application with information asked below and included their manuscripts with structured abstract by the deadline will be considered. Decisions are made based on the quality of the papers.

Prerequisites: Doctoral students who are progressed well in their writing stage of doctoral dissertation.
Admittance: Max.20 – 25 participants, preferably from the field of the Logistics and Supply Chain management Graduate School and KATAJA. Other doctoral students are also welcomed to apply, also from other countries. Participants will be selected on the basis of the quality of the paper.
